Ema Stoned

Ema Stoned is a female experimental rock trio, which makes instrumental rock with high doses of space rock, post-rock, soft noise suites, full of psychedelic sensations, delighting us with harsh and hallucinating soundscapes, full of noise and extra-sensory vibrations.

EMA STONED (BR)

Experimental rock band from São Paulo formed in 2011. Ema Stoned is composed by Alessandra Duarte on guitar, Elke Lamers on bass, and Theo Charbel on drums.

The music made by Ema Stoned has a totally free spirit, at times they sound like psychedelic happenings or space mantras that transport us to stellar soundscapes or a desert lost in the moon.

An intergalactic clash between distinct universes, distant but surprisingly complementary, which are completed in unique musical suites, presented in the spectacularly sensitive work of powerful visual appeal, by the São Paulo band Ema Stoned.

Or as the girls say in their Bandcamp:

“May sound and art function as a bridge between the internal and the external, the individual and the collective.”

The band has performed at important festivals in Brazil, in addition to having recorded their latest studio album “Phenomena” (2019, PWR Records), with guest appearances by Douglas Leal (Yantra, Deaf Kids) and psychedelic guitar master Makoto Kawabata, from Japanese band Acid Mothers Temple.

Watch/Listen to the “visual album” version with material produced by Captain Ahab, who for some years has been remixing videos and animations to create music videos by independent artists.
