Our Story
CARLO BRUNO MONTALVÃO
Head of Brain Productions Booking (Global Booking and MGMT Music Agency) and Before Sunrise Records (indie music label), creator and host at IndieAmérica radio show on Mutante Radio and also music columnist on Music Non Stop and Hits Perdidos, two of the most important music outlets in Brazil, Carlo Bruno Montalvão acts as a music manager, artistic producer, international booker, and PR, accumulating experiences, with +25 years of work inside the music industry. Heading music festivals, and music tours in Brazil and abroad (United States, Canada, Morocco, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic, Austria, Gibraltar, etc.), producing numerous events, TV Shows, and special projects. He promoted/worked in countless music concerts/gigs as a music manager, executive and artistic producer, music curator, booker, tour manager, promoting music festivals, music tours, and cultural activities. During all these years, Brain Productions Booking has contributed to the consolidation of the music indie scene in Brazil and abroad. Creating solid bonds with several countries and professionals in the global music market.

In 2010, he was founded and idealized Brain Productions Booking, a music company that acts in music management, international booking, and PR working throughout Europe, South, North and Central America.
That same year, he held his first international tour, bringing the legend Jonathan Richman (US) to play in Brazil. Since then, he has worked and brought several artists to perform in Brazil, such as Mac DeMarco (CA), Real Estate (US), Sebadoh (US), Allah Las (US), Tycho (US), Swervedriver (UK), The Helio Sequence (US), Shabazz Palaces (US), Acid Mothers Temple (JP), The Holydrug Couple (CL), El Mató A Un Policía Motorizado (AR), Las Ligas Menores (AR), Los Siberianos (AR), Paul Higgs (UY), Superchería (AR), Bryson Cone (US), Los Alamos (AR), Da Cruz (CH), Barry Paquin Roberge (CA), La Bronze (CA), Sturle Dagsland (NO), Les Deuxluxes (CA), Mutandina (AR), etc.

Our Projects
Global Music Fest
Global Music Fest 2020 is a four day event that reunites 20 artists from eight different countries, streaming live sets directly to your home. The best part of this virtual festival is that it leans heavily on Latin American artists; this is in great part thanks to the work of São Paulo, Brazil booking company Brain Productions. To drive the point further home, day one was curated by KEXP’s alt-Latinx show El Sonido, and gives us a stacked lineup featuring El Shirota from Mexico, Marineros from Chile, Riel from Argentina, and Seattle locals Tres Leches and Cactus/Terror. The rest of the festival is not lacking of talent, as we will see sets by Brazil’s Atalhos, Bike, Ema Stoned, The Baggios, Jonathan Ferr, Chile’s Perrosky, and Argentina’s Barbi Recanati, as well as indie rock legend Dough Martsch of Built To Spill and the famous U.S. psych act Temples, among many others.

Before Sunrise Records
In 2021, Brain Productions Booking also opened its own music label, called Before Sunrise Records. To release new artists from Brazil and abroad, and put your flavor in the music market, valuing new talents and releasing unexpected albums.
The label is focused on experimental music, oblique sounds, neo-psychedelia, synth-pop, garage rock, psych-rock, vaporwave, IndieBR, urban music, dream pop, shoegaze, math rock, etc.
