Brazilian duo Atalhos is confirmed at SXSW, one of the most important music events in the world

With a new repertoire, musicians are also present at the American Treefort and Weekender festivals

The Brazilian duo Atalhos has just been announced at SXSW, South by Southwest, which takes place from March 14th to 20th, in Austin, Texas, in the United States.

The event is considered the largest innovation festival in the western world, focusing on the most important advances in media, technology, film, culture and music and uniting artists from around the world for performances that celebrate the importance of live music. It is not the first time that Brazil has appeared at the event, before the duo, artists such as Luísa e os Alquimistas, Tuyo, Fresno and Anavitória have already participated.

“The expectation of finding an American audience that is attentive and open to new experiences is great, an audience that, even without understanding the lyrics, is able to connect with our music. And we hope that from these performances in the US we will also be able to conquer new spaces here in Brazil, which is our home”, comments Gabriel Soares, lead singer of Atalhos.

The duo intends to take the new repertoire to the presentation, as the album “A Tentação do Fracasso” will have been released at the beginning of the same month. In addition to the novelty, the duo celebrates their entry into two more important festivals: Treefort Music Fest, which takes place in Boise (Idaho), and Freakout Weekender, in Seattle.

The Treefort festival takes place from March 23 to 27, where it brings together more than 500 artists from around the world, celebrating 10 years of the festival in this important edition. The line-up also includes the likes of Joshy Soul, State of Confusion, The Nude Party, Neal Francis, Geese, Pachyman, The Lil Smokies, Shaina Shepherd and Rituals of Mine.

Freakout Weekender takes place on March 31st, April 1st and 2nd at the classic venue Crocodile and at the Belltown Yacht Club, with a total of four programming stages featuring over 40 artists from around the world for a multicultural experience.

The duo from São Paulo Atalhos, formed by Gabriel Soares and Conrado Passarelli, has been on the road since 2012 to strengthen musical ties. Since then, they have expanded their proposal by approaching artists from different parts of Latin America and the international music scene. The fourth album “A Tentação do Fracasso” is scheduled to reach the public in early March and, preceding the album, the musicians released, on January 21, the single “Teoría Del Cuerpo Enamorado”, in partnership with the Argentine musician Mariano di Cesare.
